About this Title

Highly readable, often surprising and always enjoyable, A Little History of Australia tells the whole story of this Great Southern Land, from its Aboriginal origins to:

• discovery by European navigators who claimed the land as their own
• the First Fleet, convict settlements and the gold rushes
• the birth-pangs of a federated nation, and the experiences of Australians in the world's wars
• the successes and problems of the twentieth century, and the celebration of a distinctly Australian way of life.

It's all here, in one compact and vividly written volume.
