About this Title

How to Be a Child is a gentle reminder for all of us to pause and look anew at the world through the eyes of a child.

To remember what it felt like to laugh until your sides ached.

To run around barefoot.

To see-and call-things as they really are.

To show off just for the sake of doing so.

With pictures from photographer Michael Coyne, How to Be a Child is a compelling testament to the wisdom of children.

About the Author

Christine Langtree is from north Queensland and is a screenwriter, songwriter, musician, community worker and a fascinated student of human nature. Michael Coyne has worked for thirty years as a photographer covering wars, revolutions and important events around the world. His highly acclaimed photographs have appeared in many publications, including Newsweek, Life, Time and the New York Times. His photos are held in many collections, from San Francisco, New York and Rome, to London, Hong Kong, Canberra and Melbourne. Several of his books have received awards, he has had three documentaries filmed about him, and in April 2003 was awarded the Centenary Medal by the Australian Government for Service to Photography.
